Reviews

Many people hate the album in the comments but my pressing has no problems. I think it's selection bias; people are more likely to give a review if they had problems with their record.

Had a bad copy and returned it and the exact same problems on first two tracks on the second copy. Too bad it is great music

I ended up with a perfect copy. An iconic album originally recorded on my birthdate. And this pressing is cut by my favorite vinyl engineer on the planet: Kevin Gray. Couldn't be happier.
-
Unfortunately yes. Another case of serious non-fill issues in the left channel on Side 1 (first two tracks).
-
Mine has lots of small nonfill issues. Ultrasonic cleaning hasn’t helped with this. Otherwise record is flat and sounds good. But the nonfill is pretty noticable.
-
Edited 8 months agoBlue note hits another homerun with this reissue. Dead quiet, great subs, mids and crisp highs.
-
I bought this when it was first released, no non-fill issues with my copy. In fact, it sounds incredible. Not only is the power of this recording apparent but also the way the musicians are listening to each other really focuses the tunes. Sonny Clarks piano is truly amazing and up front which when combined with Dexter's playing it doesn't get much better. The energy and drive are something to hear. Really a fantastic release. Must have in my opinion.

One of those albums you regularly see mentioned in audiophile forums / record collector groups. Definitely worth picking up a copy at this price - I can’t imagine it getting much better than this pressing.
