Reviews
-
Shattered is a fine single from Some Girls. "Everything Is Turning To Gold" has a much looser feel to it than anything on the album and it makes sense situated as a B-side. It's somewhat forgettable, but a good jam nonetheless with a strong brass section.
-
The Rolling Stones put on the new punk style of the time with "Shattered" and do it splendidly. And why not? The Rolling Stones were 'punk' and 'garage' before the were even used. Unlike most of the 'punk' of this time, the Stones added intelligent lyrics to the mix and betray their wisdom and age. "Everything Is Turning to Gold" has the feel of a late night jam session, but this non-album b-side is an interesting mix of rock and soul that only the Stones could have created.
