My copy is one of the original RSD pressings; I never got around to ordering a replacement. There's a bit of static on sides A & B but it's only really side C where it becomes annoying to the point of being unlistenable, on my copy at least. Side D is fine. I don't think it's Warpaint's best work, and any Weatherall fans might be disappointed if they're expecting a dance remix, but it's decent enough and the gold vinyl is pretty.

I love this record(s), totally happy to have it in my collection. I've read Alot of awful reviews concerning sound quality but I hear None of that on my end. Sure there's a little surface noise - It's a vinyl. The Fool is a beautiful album and to be able to own an alternative Mix is just awesome really. Jubilee, Majesty, Baby & Composure sound fantastic, the whole album does!
Couldn't be happier = ) -
The address for replacements - as originally posted by another further below - is/was:
[email protected]
Last correspondence I received from Rough Trade was 30 July 2021, when they said they would be sending me a replacement as soon as "from soon so after Aug 9th, we will be able to send the new versions out."
Never heard anything further, and no replacement received. I kept sending a follow-up email every 3-4 months asking what was up, but nada. -
Can you add the RT- whrere I can post my claim. I’ve tried to mail several times but got no . thanks!

just picked up a sealed copy from retail store, track one has some static but from track two Undertow on it’s hissing continuously. RT still swaping these or what?

I have received my replacement & I can confirm that this copy is excellent.
Well done to Rough trade for sorting this. I now have an album that looks great and more impotantly sound great. -
I am happy to report that I have just received my replacement, for a previous defective replacement which replaced the original pressing that had the swooshing noise.
I can confirm that my new copy is absolutely perfect, flat and dead silent. No swooshing. No non-fill. No distortions.
I am very thrilled to finally get one that sounds playable and one that is absolutely mint as well.
Great job RT on recognizing the issues that plagued this absolutely otherwise stellar release.
BTW - the mastering and soundstage is impecaably large and full of nice and tight low end.
Good copies do exist folks. -
Bought new and sealed on release date. Great package, terrible sound quality on two out of four sides... guess I'm The Fool.

Finally received my replacement and got lucky. Dead quiet and sounds incredible. Worth the wait! Buyers make sure copies you buy are play tested. Thanks RT!

So I was one of the folks who pointed out that there was a problem with the pressing.
Sadly I only just got my new replacement.
The first minute of Side A was flawless. Perfect is what I’d say....but after about nearly two minutes of perfection, the silence was ruined by tell-tale signs of non-fill - massive ripping and distortion sounds cutting through the music. This continued all thru Side A.
I said to myself, how bad can the repress actually be compared to the original “swooshy” sounding release??
How’s a giant 3 inch raised scratch on the first song of Side 2 that makes the most unbearable noise and puts my stylus at unease.
I’m frustrated and disappointed beyond all belief. What a waste of money and time this was. Avoid at all costs.
