I have a legit OG copy listed and these new s are really gumming up the works selling reissues on this page.

Edited one year agoas i understand that the original came with a pink sticker on the shrink and has the copyright text with 5 lines on the center label instead of 3 like the reissues

Yet another example of reissues getting lumped into the first pressing listing. Check ‘yer runouts folks! It devalues the original pressing which was quite a bit rarer than the reissue. I don’t care all that much in this case, but it’s a thing. If it’s sealed, it’s probably a reissue. My OG is in shrink and does have a pink hype sticker FWIW. Idk about the reissues.

Edited 2 years agoThe new-ish pressing that is making the rounds in shops is here - No Doubt - Return Of Saturn.
Since it has different printing, it requires a new submission. -
Very glad to see this back in print! Overall this is a surprisingly great pressing however the second disc on my copy has some light campfire sounding background noise throughout and sone songs can sound a bit flat compared to the rest (suspension without suspense unfourtounately having the worst case of this) and I am a bit dissapointed by how barebones the packaging is (no gatefold, basic white sleeves, at least it comes with an insert though) but all of that aside I’d say I’m still happy with this pressing, some songs sound absolutely incredible on here! Very lively mix!

Return of Saturn is my personal favorite No Doubt record, and what I believe to be their best work overall. The album was recorded over a two year period after the band written several dozen songs and there was much internal strife over the direction of their sound. While a large part of their fan base expected a further ska-punk-pop feel of their previous record Tragic Kingdom, the band instead went with a more mature, new wave sound that kept their own original style but expanded on it in many ways. The record also includes several ballad type songs, not surprising given that the band was working with producer Glen Ballard. Take as a whole, the record is an exploration of femininity led by singer Gwen's Stefani's experiences with love, relationships, and feelings of her perceptions in the industry and popular culture. As for the vinyl itself, the mix is excellent, with very well done instrumentation and vocal separation, as well as a very lively and punchy mix. There are some issues with background noise and some inner-groove distortion, even after cleaning, and the packaging leaves a lot to be desired with poor quality paper sleeves and a non-gatefold jacket. Still, this is a large upgrade over the CD release, and well worth any vinyl collection.

super happy this was repressed, kind of weird how this dropped out of nowhere with no hype around it but I'm happy I didn't have to pay 50+ bucks for it. my copy sounded great but the second disc's center hole was way too small and almost was stuck on my turntable. I'll have to try and widen it
