Such a great record from beginning to end. Always loved the recording and it translates very nice to vinyl. This record is made to be on vinyl. My pressing sounds fantastic! Highly recommended!

I swear reviews on this site are all over the place. All I can say is trust your own ears. This pressing sounds fine. Particularly the drums which you can tell from the opening track hit super hard, real nice punch and hard-driving rhythm. Honestly, I think the music sounds super energetic and has a dynamic in-your-face quality to it. Definitely light years better than any digital version I’ve heard. Well balanced and the vocals sit right in the mix. Crazy that some people think this sounds bad. The bass might not be as smooth and defined as the original release but this is a reissue, it tries to come close to the original bombastic sound but it will never quite be there. But I’m enjoying listening to this. Listen to She Talks To Angels and tell me it doesn’t sound good! The acoustic guitar in that sound is sweet and harmonic and just jumps out of the speakers. I’m happy I bought this and wand to thwarted by the negative reviews. I think people just need to invest in a quality stylus and a whole new world will be opened up to you. Really this doesn’t sound bad and you can really crank it too! Also, a quality pressing that plays dead quiet too. I think some people just say records sound bad to stir up conflict. All I can say is spend $20 bucks on this you won’t be disappointed.

Very Flat Sounding Pressing. (No real dynamics)
My copy is quiet, flat, and pretty green!
I just hope one day they reissue it with a an audiophile quality. This album totally deserves it. -
Sound quality is certainly nothing exceptional, lacking any dynamics and very flat sounding. Gave it an excellent wet cleaning before playing and has the GZ Media signature ticks, pops, and surface noise. The good news, these can be picked up in-store for $26.97 and should sound great on a suitcase record player with built-in speakers. Otherwise, look for a different pressing, maybe an original like others have commented on.

A bit bass heavy on my copy. Overall it sounds ok...until you compare it to a US original pressing. The OG shines a lot especially on the details. It has the punch though it’s not as bass-heavy as this reissue. It’s pretty much the same case as when I compared the Siamese Dream reissue with the OG. There’s more clarity on the OG but there’s more bass kickin’ on the reissue.
My verdict is stick with the OG (when you can find one clean copy) if you’re a stickler for details and clarity. But if you’re one for coloured vinyl and overall casual playing copy, this reissue is not too bad! I mean it’s after all just rock n’ roll, not some chin-stroking jazz. -
Edited 3 years agoDead quiet pressing. In comparison to the original pressing and on CD, it's about the same. The album wasn't mixed/produced well originally imo and has always sounded flat - even though the performances are great. That said, this is fine to have if you love the album and want it on vinyl but don't want to shell out a ton of money.

So, what's the final word here? Was this plated at RTI & pressed at GZ or something? Is there a GZ in Canada? What's the Canada angle? Also, how is the mastering & pressing quality?
