Always a fan of Mathew B but this record blew my mind, played it anywhere and everywhere for years. Got two copies, one utterly trashed, one never touched because it's so special. One of the best things he ever recorded, funky and devastating.

The "herbal" track is not the same as the youtube ed one, as dylaf said, its 110 bpm. Please remove the video or the good one.. my two cents :)

Absolute GENIUS. Grabbed this in 2000 after being won over by Plank Records, who consistently put out breaks more tailored for an intelligent tech crowd. Hammered it relentlessly.

'Monster' is a low slung badass, and with todays renewed breakbeat interest & house/techno dub crossover styles, I'm surprised this one hasn't exploded into wants list's everywhere. Shakes the floor to sh*t. In a wonky, f&*ed up world of its own- a nasty, insane, funk stabbing serial killer. Think James Brown meets Michael Myers at Halloween... 'Monster' couldn't be more aptly named...

'Herbal' is also brilliant, weighing in at 110 BPM, choc full of breaks & deep as hell. The Rob Base & Easy Rock/Bomb The Bass samples don't even sound a bit tired due to the unusual balance of sweet & sour moodiness Mathew B does so well. My fave on Plank, by a long shot.

EDIT: 'Monster' does even more damage pitched down by -2 or so, at more of a 'funk' tempo. TIP. Neither track are done justice on your PC speakers via the youtube vids.
