Edited 2 months agoI have been saying for a while now that I want to get the original masters of albums that were eventually put out onto CD, with the whole notion of "if it was good enough to get shipped on the vinyl and listened to by millions, it'll be good enough to listen to." This has stopped me dead in my tracks. And it's not because the songs are mixed poorly or anything, but when I think of Supertramp, I think of an absolute powerhouse of a band, roaring and powerful and full. By contrast, this is.. it's like I'm listening to a different album, like different takes or something altogether. It's so much more trebly and light and almost thin-sounding, but you can hear much more instrumentation and intricacy throughout. It was a delight to listen to throughout, but so so different, and.. I think I must it I like the remaster much more. Round it out and don't be afraid to punch the lower bits a bit more!
Also kinda funny, but in my booklet, the "1." is missing next to the first song's title. A misprint maybe, but not about to create a whole 'nother version for it.
