Agree with the others. Poorly mastered. A lifeless press from a very dramatic and high-production band.

The mixing in this is terribly flat. It was the first time I put on a record and just really felt like something was wrong as it started playing. After a listen, I went ahead and popped on my streaming service and played through the same setup, just to see if I was just terribly mising how these songs sounded. Funny enough, it was mostly hitting the same way-very flat. As a final hurrah, I played the songs as they were from the original albums and finally-that's what I it sounding like, and it finally was satisfying.
Seems that the mixing is different and just plain bad on this compilation album, whether from a digital or vinyl source. That mixing performs even worse on vinyl, as it doesn't appear to have really been adjusted beyond what's necessary to simply work for RIAA conversion. Sadly, this is a compilation to skip or wait for a re-release where they fix this. -
I very much agree with the previous review. The mixing is terrible. This sounds digitally sourced and by any standard simply sounds flat and lifeless.
Update: I tried to give this another chance but couldn't stand it. It's just awful. I like the songs and compilation but this is one I'd rather stream. -
Record was not mastered very well, not dynamic sounds kind of flat. Nice to have a lot of their biggest hits on vinyl, but overall sound quality wise this isn't a great release
