Edited 4 years agoIf it matters, my copy is 000372...and it's a GREAT pressing. Dead silent. Zero surface noise. I normally clean old and new records after 1 listen, but this thing sounds f ing incredible. There is no need to attempt to improve sound quality with this one, it's one of the best pressings of any vinyl I own. I haven't even hit it with the Zerostat yet. Is this extraterestrial vinyl? Prolly. Not to mention the damn glossy cover and rediculously ill artwork... Melvins, forever. 🤘 -
I guess I'm one of the few with a dud copy. Mine sounds pretty muddy and there are TONS of crackles and pops on this thing despite me washing it a couple times already. The silver vinyl is really cool though.

This is the reissue to get. MOV absolutely destroys the third man reissues (for all three Atlantic albums). Much quieter and dynamic. Flat vinyl that is perfectly centered. Can hear much better detail but it seems the tape that was used to cut these from (or the digital transfer at least) is getting a bit old in the tooth. Some minor drop outs in places that I do not from the old cd versions, though my system is much more resolving now so perhaps thats why I can hear it now? The tape issue I have noticed in spots for all three albums. Minor for sure and certainly not worth spending the money on crackly and scratched original pressings.

Definitely better than the Third Man pressing, especially the levels, but the mixing does have some muddiness still. Cover art does come across like a nasty bootleg though. -
I feel like I've had this album preordered for ages...finally arrived and get to spin and she is impressive. Perfect mix and perfectly silent. Happy with this one for sure. -
Dead silent noise floor. Super badass mastering. Nice sturdy gatefold w/ spot varnishing. MOV does it again! Thank god for this company.
