Exceptional sounding vinyl. I came across a near mint/unplayed copy and there's no surface noise at all. It played with great clarity and punch. I'm always very sceptical about pulp vinyl releases, especially their 90s releases. I've had both His 'n' Hers and Different Class albums sealed 1st pressings and I wasn't very impressed with the sound quality on any of those albums but 'This is Hardcore' is in a league of it's own. The quality of sound is tip top! Most probably because it's a double LP release and MPO did a great job here with the pressing. This is the one to get! Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

Had two copies over the years and both had a bit of surface noise here and there (second copy much better than the first), but what a lush pressing this is. The separation is great, with details and depth all present and correct. I've not heard the reissue and if it's like the We Love Life repress it might in fact sound very good, though as others have pointed out the artwork is a lot sharper on this version. It's one of the most vivid print jobs I've ever seen on an album, especially the gatefold, where Jarvis and his silk shirt are almost terrifyingly present.

Edited one year agoStunning sound quality, don't waste your time with later disgraceful reissues...this is the pressing to own!

After finally getting my hands on a copy, I noticed that my favorite song, "Like A Friend" was missing. What a bummer! What's with all the different track listings for this, evidently the same, album?

After receiving my original copy, i decided to compare it with my Plain Recordings one. Suffice to say that the latter should be tossed into a bottemless pit or be incinerated. A complete disservice to this great masterpiece. The original pressing however, is a blessing to my ears.
