'Right or Wrong' is a pretty, country ballad that proves Jackson's versatility. She could wail with the best of the rockers, but she has a sweet voice on the 'A' side. The real interesting track is 'Funnel of Love' which to my ear is fairly hard to put into one 'genre'.
I've seen this referred to as 'popcorn soul', which seems utterly ridiculous to me. Everything about this track is strange, from the 'Rawhide' male backing vocals to the oriental sound of the lead guitar. 'Funnel of Love' seems to be a play on the phrase 'Tunnel of Love', and in this funnel, the singer cannot escape. Love is presented here as a feared inevitability. Has to be one of the strangest songs of the early sixties.
If you want real fun, you can play this 45 rpm record at 33 and a third, and Wanda sounds like Barry McGuire of 'Eve of Destruction' fame.
