Really enjoyable LP, with the exception of the "Gimme Danger (Josh Mobley Remix)"...which is complete garbage and is totally out of place here. No idea why it was included, really wish it wasn't. I'm sure Josh is a nice person, but c'mon dude.

4 stars!! This might be My 2nd favorite Stooges LP. I’m a very longtime fan. It’s best to you listen to this LP as a whole at “face value” without considering previous iterations. It shows the deeper fundamentals of what makes the man and the band great. Great sense of humor. Great spontaneity. It sounds like they are having FUN while youthful/ desperate at the same time. One MAJOR drawback is the totally reworked Gimme Danger remix, it’s sad that they included it on this otherwise great collection.

"I Got a Right," one of the Stooges' best songs, is presented here in the Leslie speaker version. I think it's the same as the digital file that was offered as a free by Iggy & The Stooges several years ago. A far inferior version to the one you hear on the original single, Siamese Dogs, etc. (The "official" release people must not have had access to the master of the type specimen take.)

"I'm Hungry" is an early version of "Penetration," and only of real interest to completists. Likewise, "Hey Peter" and "Doojiman" are just the boys goofing around in the studio.

The "Gimme Danger" remix — the only really new material here — is just weird. It was done for a video game, so maybe I'm just culturally deaf to its purpose.

That leaves us with a few gems on official vinyl: The cleanest version of "I'm Sick Of You" I have yet to hear, without glitches or major distortion; and really powerful mixes of "Death Trip" and "Shake Appeal" that sound like the ones on the Rough Power boot, but much more finished. They're a good tease of what Iggy's original vision for Raw Power might have sounded like.

The album is filled out with one post-Raw Power rehearsal track, "Head On," that sounds thin but is a great song.

This record cost me $32 Canadian, and didn't offer much that a fan doesn't already have. (Especially all the duplicates from the extra CD tracks on a Raw Power reissue a few years back.)

I don't regret buying it, but unless you're a hardcore fan and vinyl completist, probably one to avoid.

Pointless is a good word for this release.
Contrary to what it may say, not all of these tracks are on vinyl “officially” for the first time here; both I Got A Right and I’m Sick of You were on the soundtrack for the Gimme Danger documentary (excellent film, and the soundtrack is the best “best-of” compilation for the band that actually takes from all three original albums). In fact, the soundtrack used the same TAKE as these ones as well. So the exclusivity of this is overstated.
This is, essentially, a beat-for-beat vinyl release of the outtakes CD from the 2010 Raw Power box set. Even the track listing is almost exact. However, that version of Gimme Danger is replaced with an awful, generic-sounding remix that was done for some video game with an inflated budget.
I’m Hungry and Hey Peter are the only songs on this compilation that are actually rare. Finding them online is a pain in the behind. But really, they’re both awful anyways.
Rare Power is just a cashgrab. It’s Not Good.
