Edited one month ago2025 repress through IVC is a purple galaxy -- nothing'll beat this one's colorway IMO but it's a remaster and it'll sound better than this one!
edit: i was right. this one doesn't sound nearly as clean as the most recent galaxy pressing. -
Edited 3 years agoAgree with other comments. The surface/background noise is present and more noticeable on side A. It's no where near un-listenable, although I wouldn't pay what it's currently going for on resell +$150.00. The mastering is solid not great. Overall I would give this record a 4.1 out of 5 (perhaps I'm being biased because I love this album).

Edited one year agoGotta agree with the surface noise… crackly as fuck on quieter sections of songs, especially on side A. The mastering itself is pretty great, but the pops really do make it very much NOT worth a $100+ secondary market purchase. Glad I got this at retail price, as much as I love AvA. A weak 4/5. (Spin count: 3)
Edit: on my third listen through.. it’s as i . sides A and B both actually have some irritating noise, notably on the first track. -
Edited 5 years agoExtremely disappointed with this pressing. The mastering/EQs are horrible. Too much background noise which completely take over the beauty of this album. Parts of it just sound so hollow and empty. Not to mention it took SRC almost 3 months to get it to me. The only track that sounds flawless is, “The War,” go figure since it’s the loudest.

The hazy vinyl looks great, but there is a fair amount of surface noise that is quite distracting during the quiet sections and track transitions.

It looks like this is another batch. March 1, 2019. Someone mentioned that this was originally underpressed. Less than 900 were pressed. 1,000 were supposed to be pressed. Maybe this is the rest?

Dont have any issues with noise on this press. Nor my other SRC vinyl. Sounds good. I wish their business tactics and customer service and ability to sell a product correctly was nearly as nice as the pressing/sleeve quality! Got this from elusivedisc and have nothing to say but great things. Went all out on shipping packaging
