Edited 9 months agoPressing is quiet and no issues to speak of. The vocals have always been buried in the mix on this album. Perhaps a remaster would benefit it. Side B does sound a bit better over side A. They could have included a lyric sheet with this, but otherwise it’s a good pressing with an average mastering. I just switch on the loudness feature on my amp and it makes this album much more punchy and dynamic. Sometimes a little EQ’ing is necessary, nothing wrong with that.

Pretty average pressing overall that's not going to wow you. Side B oddly does have a punchier and fuller sound than side A. Ordered the VMP version because I've read such good reviews on it.

Seems this album listing still needs some distinction made regarding the "interpolnyc.om" typo on rear of sleeve, as it seems to be corrected on other pressings.

I picked up a copy from the show and gotta say the drums are far from crisp, which is a big bummer because that was one of the most gripping parts of the show.
The guitars and vocals are relatively true to form, but I’m definitely looking forward to that VMP 2xLP later this year. It’s a great album, but someone else referred to this release as “lifeless” and I think that hits the nails on the head. -
[UPDATE: Just buy the VMP 2xLP reissue. It is vastly superior to this.]
Bleh, they should really reissue this as a 2xLP to really let the sound breathe. As is, being one of the few options on vinyl, it sounds decent. As I find weirdly familiar with other records I own, Side B sounds a lot better than Side A. The mixing and mastering on this album was already a bit muddly so it fortunately doesn't effect this too much, but it would've been nice to get a fuller sounding mix -
My copy sounds pretty good really. The music style and time period were both compressed to hell.
But overall there's a good balance of frequencies and the vinyl is relatively silent.
If you love this album and want it on vinyl this is probably the best it's ever going to sound unless they do a full remix/remaster. -
Edited 3 years agoMy variant doesn't match any of the three listed here. I will update the release to include a 4th variant. That being said, I agree with most of what people are saying here. This pressing is lifeless. Not dynamic at all. The percussion in particular just seems to get lost in the background when there is any kind of volume swell, almost like it's under water. The vocals also seem to struggle to cut through the mix on a few of the songs as well. Really poorly mastered. It's a shame because it's a great album

Edited 3 years agoi bought this in january 2022 and it had a different runout than variants 1 and 2 and no card (i updated the release to include this 3rd variant). they must have repressed this recently with a recut stamper bc it sounds good and not thin like others are saying. shame there's no card tho, i hardly ever get them in new pressings.
(comment edited because i was previously confused about why mine didn't match up with variants 1 and 2) -
Edited 2 years agoDon't get me wrong I think this album is amazing, but this pressing is lifeless. This might be the dullest sounding record in my collection. It deserves a proper release.

Edited 4 years agoMy copy has a quiet surface and sounds just fine if a bit thin overall, with a few tracks sounding great: "PDA", "The New" and "Leif Erikson". This is the pressing Amazon is shipping as of April 2021, even though there is a newer pressing out there.
