I have a really bad pressing, had some background sounds and really odd. Some tracks were fine and sounded great, but thought it was pretty bizarre.

I had no idea until I bought this record on vinyl that this was essentially a one man band. And while that commands a certain amount of iration for Lenny Kravitz's talents, it also makes one feel that something is lost by not hearing a full band gelling and coming together to make some magical syncopation. At any rate, this pressing is very good, if not great, as there are moments, and even entire songs, that sound flat and muddy. For example, both Fields of Joy and Stand By My Woman on Side A. Musically the record loses steam on Side D and is probably best avoided altogether.

I agree with the others. I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but this sounds really, really good. Flat, dead quiet vinyl and the mastering is great. Good soundstage and nice instrument separation. The analogue production really shines on this. I also wasn’t expecting a gatefold, which was a nice surprise. Recommended.

Great sounding vinyl! Lenny made sure he made it with the analogue colour back then when he had released the record so after all these years it is a perfect match for spinning!

Really nice sounding reissue. Black background, minimal surface noise, improved dynamics over the original while still maintaining some of the sonic quirks that gave the original production/recording some uniqueness. Packaging gets a B- but the actual vinyl and sound quality gets an A. I was afraid these might be a cash-grab reissues but they actually sound good, thankfully.
