Notes
The breakthrough film for Director/Writer, Guillermo Del Toro, who has reached even higher acclaim with The Hobbit, Pacific Rim, and this year’s, The Shape of Water. The two Hellboy films grossed 250 million in theaters in the U.S. alone. The soundtrack is composed by Marco Beltrami, (Wolverine, Scream). The LP cover is created by legendary artist, Drew Struzan, which has never been used on a wide release in any format.

Well, my copy ain’t that bad! I vacuum clean my records. Side one is good. Side two is cut slightly off center but wow and flutter seems ok to my sensitive ears. (So far, every Varese Sarabande record I own is off center. I will rejoice when I actually find one that is not. ) Minimal surface noise. Average packaging. Average record but well worth owning if you’re a fan.

My red vinyl copy from Amazon is a very bad pressing with full of pops and crackles on the both sides

Edited 6 years agoA lower than average quality pressing I'd say, recently got my copy from amazon, and straight out of the packaging it is full of pops and crackles, not the loudest ever but still obvious. All 3 sides of the inner sleeve came pre-ripped, which is a shame since it is not a standard inner sleeve, it has artwork on it and such.
Maybe cleaning it would help this, but I didn't bother to :P
The music is very low, so you have to crank up the volume very much so, making every pop extremely loud, if not louder than the soundtrack itself.
The artworks is alright, not the worst quality I have seen, but not the highest either.
I read the previous commenter on here stated that he had the word "spine" on the actual spine, but mine does not, so maybe they fixed this after noticing it. Although, looking at the inner sleeve, specifically the note from the director, he states "...will deepen their attachment to his world through magical music to be found on this CD."
They didn't even bother changing the word "CD" to vinyl for the vinyl release, THAT is LAZY, and mistakes like this are sooo easy to avoid.... really.. cd?
Still, being a hellboy fan through and through, this is better than nothing, if one can get it cheap I'd say it's worth it for the novelty, and presentation =) -
The packaging seems to have been rushed. From the word "spine" being left in blue type on the spine to the poor scans of the Drew Struzan's beautiful artwork. That said, I am glad that this soundtrack has received a vinyl release.
