It’s got a silky and full sounding mix with punch and breath, including a beautifully illustrated 40th anniversary book (lots to read), poly sleeve, and dead quiet vinyl. For what I paid, I am a very satisfied owner of this masterpiece of elemental prog.
-
Edited one year agoIt is certainly a very good edition, as well as the others prepared by Wilson (if only because of the extensive book with the history about the record and the band). But after a comparative test with two original editions (German and American pressings) I cannot definitively say that the new edition sounds better. What I miss on the new edition is the lost sonority of the sound of acoustic guitars (a little bit muffled and withdrowned in the mix, maybe because of the equalization), which in a way define the sound of this album, as well as the air and space present on the original releases. Summarizing - new reissue doesn't sound bad but different (not necessarily better) from the editions I compared.

Fantastic pressing all around. Have both an old copy and this remix, and can safely say this is superior. Also moved the lyric record sleeve from the old copy into this one so that I could read along still.

I found this remix on vinyl, used for a good price so I grabbed it. It's in great shape, has the nice booklet, not warped at all, sounds very good etc. BUT why doesn't this reissue include the lyrics like the original vinyl? Always something...
-
Awesome band, awesome mix imo. Obviously cut from digi but still. Ive tried two copies and both are horribly dish warped... im hoping 3rd time lucky....
-
What an artist they are, wonderful. The music was clean and pronounced, the pressing seems dead quite. My only problem with this album is it is slightly warped. Other wise, just wonderful. Happy Solstice!
