One of my true American heroes in the recording industry, Herb Alpert...Little kid growing up in LA and before him were a slew of instruments on a table at school...Luckily for us he picked up the trumpet and not the piccolo...Aside from blowing the horn and singing and managing a HUGE record company, Herb is an accomplished artist with painting and twenty foot high sculptures selling for a BIG bucks all over the globe...Saw him at the Hollywood Bowl in the sizzling TJB years in the 60's and in pre COVID days on stage in a beautiful jazz club at the Smith Center in Sin City...He is a jewel, a 24kt musical treasure...Oh, this was his 9th album...but I think you knew that...
