Michael Gray – The Weekend

A must-have for the French touch, I managed to find a pressing of this vinyl at the Douai record store, there was only one left

Very good and very nice of Michael to have hand signed it

Punchy, very punchy record. The bass is great and the highs are crisp.

Flat vinyl but it wobbles a bit as if it wasn't properly centered but doesn't affect the sound.

There is literally nothing from the original track apart from a tiny snippet of Shena's vocals on these. Well I think so, at least this is the case with the dub, I just couldn't stomach to listen to either in full as they are so atrocious - especially considering how wonderful the original is.

Neither of these tracks can really, really be considered to be remixes. It's like the bloke just submitted some of his own crap and labelled it a "remix". Depressing.

After a few listens I think it is better than the original.. much prefer the live bass and percussion feel on this remix... Far classier version💗

Mainstream funky house at it's finest - Michael Gray of Full Intention fame really delivers with this one.

absolutely classic, even for the people who usually do'nt listen to such music. although it's credit as house, the song is something like 'perfect-dance-4x4-rhytmic-pop-song'. adored by everyone, except some grim metalheads - but who cares of them?

A good (not astounding) house track that takes good advantage of the sampling source it lifts from. More exactly, "Get Down Saturday Night" by Oliver Cheatham. Yes, THE same track Room 5 (aka Junior Jack) used in "Make Luv".

I've heard the radio mix a lot on BBC1, plus I've got the Original mix and a Club mix. I dig all of the vocals and especially the lyrics, which seem to be only on the Radio Edit and I am assuming the Vocal Mix listed here on Discogs. The lyrics totally give it a funkier house vibe as opposed to just that repeated chorus sample- (I can’t waiiiit for The Weekend to begin) -which gives a more simple straight-up house mix.
