Everything about this release is excellent, from packaging to high quality vinyl pressing with no surface noise and great dynamics.
The songs just tear your soul apart, what a criminally underrated band... -
If Courtney Love sang for Slint. This band is pretty cool and this pressing sounds great! Boston represent!

I haven’t listened to an original lp but this sounds lively and dynamic, good pressing. Also, what an amazing band, discovered them because this lp was on sale and I thought let’s have a listen. Cover intrigued me as well and made me listen. 2nd LP of extras a nice touch too.

Rediscovered the band and this album recently. At the time of this release I played that CD so much it’s jewel case was hardly what you could ha e called translucent.
This is such a good album played so well. Marvellous band. -

Look at the numbers: "10 have this, 3 want this."
I saw them for the second time in February 1995 in Berlin touring for this record. There were about 30 people in the audience. Before the show I approached Sean O'Brien, the bass player, could they play "Loin of the surf" for me? He answered: "Our drummer doesn't like it, it is too fast for him." They opened with that song. Period. Towards the end I yelled a request: "Do you know a Rolling Stones number by any chance?" So they closed with "I got the blues".
Fond memories, but few can boast of seeing a band worth inclusion in any "They advanced the idea of rock in the nineties" performing at the peak of their creative potential and having all his requests played.
They had it all: Thalia Zedek, still is a splendid singer and guitarist who at that time seemed sufficiently immersed in the art of using dangerous and unhealthy substances to thwart her immense abilities and transforming her into a forlorn siren. Chris Brokaw, the former drummer of Codeine, as singer and guitarist, gifted enough to prove Thalia's equal, no mean feat. Sean O'Brien and Arthur Johnson excellent musicians to complement the fronting duo resulting in a band that had learned to combine the physical heaviness and texture of Sonic Youth's Evol and Daydream Nation to songcraft. Yes, Come came up with songs, played on guitars weighing two hundred tons but despite that weight they were nimble musicians, each one a professional knowing that showing off is detrimental to the whole. This was a band! With songs! But obviously few wanted them. Two brilliant lead guitarists (no Wishbone Ash pretentiousness, but rather the Quicksilver Messenger Service vein) and no redundancies, if you know what I mean. Not as drenched in hallucinogenics and glacial as the Comets on Fire, but somehow even better. Peerless and essential!
