In my opinion, quite simply one of the best live albums ever. I had the pleasure of seeing Level 42 live many times, dating back to 1983 and I can confirm that these recordings typify the energy and sheer class that the band had. They were easily one the best bands I have ever seen live, and I've seen many, I just wish I had come to the party, so to speak, in those very early days. If you prefer the "poppier" side of Level 42, then maybe you won't dig this so much (side 3 is for you!), but I thoroughly recommend it for those seeking out what Level 42 were like before "selling out". Interestingly (though not untypical), this live set was released prior to the World Machine "gear change", and the rest is history, as they say. Shame, but this live set is a fitting reminder of how "true" the band were to their original ideals. Fantastic.
RIP Boon - very sadly missed.

Welcome to the days before the mainstream pop stuff, welcome to the sunny (or rather: funky) side of Level 42.
It took some 15 years until this double LP release went digital in its entirety (a cut down version on one CD was released in the 1990s), but here we are: one of the best white funk bands ever, headed by one of the best funk bass players ever - get ready for groovy & gripping live performance, from start to finish!
The only downside of this recording: the overall sound is a bit thin, even after the remastering.
