I found the sound on the reissue loud and punchy, not complaining but haven't got the original to compare it too.

Some EPs simply have it all. Boo William's 'Fruits Of The Spirit' EP is one of them and this EP is another one. One reviewer mentions he only really discovered the B-side after listening to the fantastic A-side for some 17 years. Luckily the B side is good for at least another 17 years of listening. Buy this on sight.

This needs a repress. Absolutely absurd that mint copies are being sharked for >300 USD

"love your brother" is a track that may not seem like much at first, but played by the right dj or even just heard at the right time reveals it self to be a tightly wound, slamming jam; true "deep house", relying more on absence than presence. can make a floor absolutely explode when everything is aligned.

it seems obvious that "my angels" samples Lil Louis & The World "Saved My Life" (Masters At Work Dub)

Probably my favorite Basenotic 12" - scored randomly at a Tower Records in the late 90s and listened only to the Love Your Brother side. These guys nailed the NY/NJ 90s afterhours deephouse sound on this piece with that cut. Advance 17+ years and I finally listen to the other side and find this Detroit-ish gem of My Angels. We have the channeling of KC on one side and C2 on the other.. Hello NY And Detroit via Paris!

Thought I should add my 2 cents worth to this great EP, since it seems the stand out track for me has not been exposed.

I really loved all the tracks that are on here but one stands out, it being "gratio's tiger"
I first heard it on Vinny Da Vinci's deep house sounds volume 1 compilation and I must it, I was puzzled by the inclusion of this track.
After a couple of listens, Simultaneously, I fell in love with it and understood later on, why Vinny included this beautiful piece of music.
After those questions of curiosity were answered, the curiosity switched and now lied on the producers, the master minds behind this.
After finding out that it was The Deep, I was surprised to be honest, because I couldn't link up this style of deep house with any other producer therefore, I thought it had to someone I did not know.
But as it is with house music, you just never know even when you think you do.

The track itself is a very simple tune, with a looped voice every 8 beats and that bassline almost demanding you to get up and dance.
This is an example of how less was manipulated to become more, to show why simple can sometimes bring the best out music.
Free flowing music that you feel has no boundaries, it almost sets you free every time you listen to it, adding yet another dimension to the deep house tag.
Truly inspiring music for those who don't love deep house music, or not yet, or for those who want to grow within it.

I can't agree more. "Love your Brother" really deserves praise from the New Jersey deep sounds fans.

Deep & raw bass lines, soulful vocals at their best, and this momentum that keeps going on, and on, the kind of stuff we can find in Kerri Chandler's & Jovonn's best tracks. It's not a surprise as you know Kerri and DJ Deep are great pals, and that Deep worked with Jovonn on the awesome track "Back In The Dark".
