Liza Minnelli – Results

I’ve loved this album from the day it was released and it’s still on high rotation in my house. The video got So Sorry, I Said still gives me goosebumps.

The greatest Pet Shop Boys album they (N)EVER made! 😁 Seriously, I always thought Neil and Chris never made a peerless classic album as PSB, there was always a couple of fillers - except for this album...

With their input and stewardship of Liza's album, combined with her pure talent as a theatrical singer it's made for an absolute brilliant sophisticated pop record that has no bad songs or production. It flies by whilst listening to it, which is always a good sign. The sleeve / booklet design is really classy too! Don't bother with the brickwalled / poor mastered CD reissues, just get a copy of the perfect Epic 1989 original CD release - it sounds really fantastic.

I have had this disc since it's release in 89, and it still gets played regularly. It's aged incredibly well for an 80's (mostly) electronic sound production.

Originally scheduled for release on 27th September 2004, this was pushed back a quarter and _still_ managed to come out with a mastering fault.

Great sound and great package and awesome record! Love it!

One nice improvement on this 2004 remaster / 2005 release is that Liza's lead vocal is louder on the choruses of LOVE PAINS. On the original album, it was quite buried beneath the backing vocals.

Extremely noisy pressing, and a somewhat ordinary remaster. The resized artwork looks dull and uninviting. An extremely poor effort from everyone involved, given this was such a pivotal release for Liza, and the peak of PSB’s imperial period.

The price finally dropped a bit, so I took the plunge. After all, I own this in every other edition! Again, Cherry Red continues to disappoint, using vinyl and CD sources... WHY do we continue to let them burn us? Stick with the original CD or the 2007 remaster.

The "Don´t Drop Bombs" promo video included here is a different version from the previously released video on the 2005 CD+DVD re-issue. They´re very similar, but many minor edits and shot changes are present on both versions.
