WAY to much harmonizing on the voice.
Despite the music being fine as easy listening, the voice just kills me.
The whole D-side is but a filler, just random synthesizer ambient no meaning stuff. If it was possible that'd be minus stars for this attrocity.
Selling immediately.

Two copies tried, in the four and seven hundreds from two different retailers and both have severely warped disc 1's with a particularly sharp warp on the outer edge causing skips until a couple of minutes in. Looks like heat warp to me because the arms all over the gaff and the discs are just not flat at any point. Sounds decent otherwise but had to return them. Obviously some copies are ok judging from the other reviews because no one in their right mind would keep the two ive tried with a view to playing them.
Edit... 2 more copies tried. Neither had the severe warpings as mentioned above but they both play with constant crackle and some non fills. Ive kept the best copy but it remains one of the noisiest MOV presses ive got even if its mostly on the bonus track which wont get much spin time with me.
C'mon MOV, stop the rot of your pressings of late! -

agree with the other reviews. it sounds great and the packaging is gorgeous. I think the 2xLP set here is neat because I've always thought of "Gap in the Night" as being like a bonus track - it's a redone Po90 track which I don't think fits with the rest (as good as it may be). the first 4 tracks I think stand on their own. my one complaint is there's some surface noise on the actual bonus track, "Exponenzgesetz", particularly in the first few minutes. I'm curious if all versions are like that because the rest is dead silent. -

This is a realy fine pressing and sounds amazing. Crystal clear and fine outlined instruments. I would like to call it audiophil. -
Edited 2 years agoThe World That We Drive Through is The Tangent’s second album and another superb one. This is the 74-minute special edition which features a 14-minute bonus track, a tribute to Tangerine Dream, plus an O-card and a better booklet. The lineup is the same as on The Tangent’s debut except Theo Travis (Porcupine Tree, Gong) replaces David Jackson. The music does sound like a combination of The Flower Kings and Parallel or 90 Degrees, with the sax and flute adding another dimension.
