Alice Cooper – Billion Dollar Babies

I like this fidelity over my ‘73 pressing! This has a solid well balanced mix with nice separation in the midrange, thumping low end that doesn’t overpower. The OG is a bit shrill on the high end and here, Bellman corrects this. This is one of the few times I much prefer the modern remaster to the OG! [Tech specs in my profile].

Five stars for the music, three for the mastering. A rather lackluster EQ that lacks imaging and separation. A bit shrill on the highs though has some decent though modest low end. Midrange tepid. I much prefer the Chris Bellman 2024 cut lacquer. [Tech specs in my profile].

Cool packaging. Sounds better than my OG but not by much.

I never considered this an audiophile wonder and this release does nothing to change my mind. Some colored vinyl can be kinda noisey and this is the case with my copy although still a very tolerable listen. Side two is more interesting with the hit song No More Mr. Guy and the album's best track Generation Landslide. I never truly was on board with Vincent's early 70's work but he has managed to put up quite an extensive yet spotty catalog with a few gems sprinkled in here and there although this is not one of them. To me this kinda feels like a Zappa album. I think you could substitute Roger Daltrey in this album and it would be a fine twist too. I do think the packaging is very cool replicating the original art and all with the billion dollar bill and the groovy looking green/orange vinyl.

Wow, this is amazing sound quality straight from the tapes, vibrant and incredible. Beautiful snake skin textured sleeve just top-notch quality throughout. Played whisper quite not even one tick. Live mater is mind blowing as well!!!

All 3 records sound great, don't believe some commenters saying it's muffled, they're trying hard to sell VG- original press for 200$
