Noisy even after a good ultrasonic cleaning, side A does sound compressed and muffled as opposed to the other 3 sides, amazing compilation regardless

Instead of rehashing recordings that most collectors will already have, why don't you (Wire) give us something new from your archive of old recordings, for example a vinyl release of all the demos that were tacked onto the Japanese CD reissues of your early albums, or some nice early recordings like The Roxy tapes which were previously only available on CD? I'm sure there are still more unreleased demo tapes, & there are definitely lots more early live recordings... Just a thought....!!!

No poly lined sleeves on a record this pricey is utterly criminal. Sounds good though.

Cleaned it (ultrasonic only), flat, quiet. Pleasantly surprised by this biovinyl, how long lasting it is remains to be seen. Sounds great though.

Cleaned and there are some clicks and pops particularly noticeable between tracks and in quieter parts. Will give another wash and wait it out to double check. Some scuffing/imperfections appear on each LP too, in specific spots, not all over.

Both discs on my copy are slightly warped. Quiet pressing which sounds great, no pops or clicks. Sleeve and overall quality look good.

They all sound more distorted than their digital counterparts on the 2018 CDs... is this the nature of the single mixes, the nature of vinyl, or a result of IGD in my setup? (It's all inner groove, after all.) We may never know. Well, I could futz with my turntable a bit, I suppose.

Finally got around to buying this. Wonderful item for a WIre fan to own. Some versions of A sides are different from the album versions, a touch more abrasive and aggressive. If Wire were "art punk," these singles are arty, but the punk emphasis is pleasantly heavy handed here. Then some of the B sides.....WOW. Never heard these Wire songs before, and they are some of the best examples of "moving sculpture" Wire member Bruce Gilbert described Wire's sounds as- favorites of mine in this category are the songs/sounds "Options R" and "Former Airline," the latter a clanking pastiche of organized sounds and noises, plus a beat to hold it altogether. Other bonuses include the vinyl pressing of the "Free EP" that was originally included with copies of their album "154," and the last 7 inch in the set, a freaking LOUD re-working of "Our Swimmer."
