Edited 7 months agoHave had two copies of the clear version purchased from my local, both suffering from the same, very slight, off-centered warbling on the B side, though the A side is fine. Anyone else? Will probably also get the CD, but would love to find a good copy of the vinyl, as it sounds very good.

Stellar album. An incredible band. The first side of the album, I found myself wanting more bass in the mix. They are a band that so seamlessly and effortlessly (at least that's the way it sounds) has the bass and drums carry the song in interesting and groovy ways. At first listen it sounds like more straightforward songwriting composition than their previous catalogue. But the more I listen, the more the album reveals itself as an exceptional collection of songs that adds to Karate's music. I'm grateful for this album! This viny pressingl sounds great!

Edited 7 months agoSolides Album von Karate, leider mehr pop-rock lastig, jazz affines blitzt nur wenig auf. Pressung 10/10

Surprisingly fresh and peppy for a band who've been away for almost twenty years. It's a shorter, simpler album of shorter, simpler songs than Karate are generally known for but it's still very "them". Taken against the rest of their discography it's probably their weakest record, but given how high they set the bar before and the time that's ed that's hardly a surprise. Intrigued to hear what they do going forward, and whether they'll settle back into the more complex structures and dynamic contrasts of their prior work on subsequent releases having cleared the decks with this.

Very different for Karate, but it sounds a LOT like Geoff's other band (Exit Verse). I do quite like it, but it definitely doesn't sound like the old Karate, but whatever. If you're unsure, give a listen before you buy it.

extremely disappointed by this record. was hoping for karate and instead i got people cosplaying as them doing a pop band. maybe it will grow on me in time but first impression is this is a forgettable record from an unforgettable band. they dont even resemble karate until side b. rough one for sure.....

as people start receiving their pre-orders please update this section if there's anything noteworthy about the received condition of the "Blonde" Numero pressing: i am just curious before I have to ask someone that works there if they thought the album title was packaging advice, and am hoping am the sole example. thx
