Really good album, but they include the CD with this release for a reason. Vinyl falls flat for me, even setting my system to full volume I don't feel like I'm getting much "punch" out of it. When compared to the CD I find myself preferring the sound I get from the CD, which is very rare for me, when presented with a record I can play through my beautiful tube pre-amp.
All in all, the highs don't quite sparkle, the lows don't quite smack and lack definition, and the dynamics feel squashed. -

Really enjoying this album, couldn't get into Empath This is a great sounding pressing lots of dynamics and bass. Black vinyl sounds great.
A cross between Casualties of Cool and Epicloud -
Owch. Who releases a box set of the cut down version of the album? I knew with a lot of his 2010s albums there were 1cd and 2cd versions of each, but why would anyone want to buy a box set of the "no bonus disc" version? Here's hoping this at least comes out on CD without requiring you to buy the vinyl version.

Holy moley... I just received it and gave it a spin. Only on Side A, but this is an AMAZING sounding record. More low frequencies than I've ever heard on vinyl. Plus, for a coloured vinyl, NO background noise whatsoever.
It sounds like a complete standalone master, like they did with the Empath vinyl.
