Womack & Womack – Conscience

This 2022 Japan CD deluxe edition of Womack & Womack's stunning 1988 Conscience album is a must-have for fans/collectors, as it contains the much-sought-after Frankie Knuckles "Paradise Ballroom Mix" of "MPB" that was previously only available on 12" single - plus Lee Hamblin's Extended Remix of their hit "Teardrops" - IMHO their best album - I only wish they saw fit to also include the Blaze remix of "Celebrate the World" and "Ballroom Mix" of "Life's Just a Ballgame" since there's still room to fit on the CD.

This album has been a grower, and repays repeated listens. There's really something cool about the general ambiance. Some unusual grooves that over time become a relaxing or maybe mesmerizing listen. Also great as an album you can put on as a classy background soundtrack when friends or family are gathered. The sound quality and production is crisp and clear.

Stunning record from start to finish. The vocals from them both are jaw-dropping. I buying my first copy in the late 80’s and it is still as good today in2024.. The quality of vinyl is also outstanding

A bargain bin record that just slaps. Essential for any collection

Great music but unfortunately at least my copy of this pressing suffers from lots of sibilance.

Can't explain how a record this good is sold at ridiculously low prices... everyone should have this for rainy days.

This 2019 CD is a missed opportunity: If you're going to reissue this album (which has already on relased on CD prior), you should reissue a DELUXE 2-CD edition with many of the various 12" mixes issued of the singles, such as the epic Frankie Knuckles club mixes/dubs of MPB, 12" mixes of Teardrops, Life's Just a Ballgame, Celebrate the the World, & more. This is Womack & Womack's BEST album, and deserves the deluxe expanded treatment after 30 years!

A great sounding record, production sounds very transparent and dynamic.
