Notes
An ambitious "Solo" project with 4 special records was released in 1978. Their 4 Solo albums were released simultaneously in one day. The record label apparently invested about $2.5 million on marketing and promotions for the solo project. For the USA market and vinyl pressing, LP's featured a special jigsaw poster of each member that when you purchased all 4 solo LP's connected together into one large poster or mural. Also included in the unique releases was a Kiss Army/merchandise order form, and custom inner photo sleeve showing all of the 4 releases.

I have this exact pressing but it also has Sterling stamped in the dead wax. This entry might need an update.

Bob Kulick’s tasty guitar is all over this record (and other Kiss records). He deserves some serious credit for this gem, which is easily the best among the 4 solo releases. The other three are not worth a damn IMO.

Easily the best of the bunch. Half of the tracks would have been outstanding on Dynasty or Unmasked. It sounds the most like KISS and that's not a bad thing either. -
Just open an og ‘78 and My matrix is different than all these.

I totally agree with the comment of GT.
A really satisfying Pressung. i won't suffer not having the US 1st Press. :-)

Edited one year agoThe matrix numbers match my copy, but the tracklist color is purple instead of blue. Paul's hair is all purple too, not blue/purple.

Worthless??????
There are tons of Kiss fans who collect these 'WORTHLESS" items LOL!!
That's the fun of collecting!! For the record, they are not bad quality at all, in fact
the picture disc sounds great. It's just a nice item to buy if you see it in the wild for a couple
of bucks/Euros. I had the Ace bootleg but sold it to a guy who REALLY wanted to have so
i made him happy! In turn, he got my a copy of Kiss Destroyer Russian edition with differentt
cover. It's fun collecting different types of items, but as long as it says KISS, it's got value!!

Edited one year agoA good, solid late-70s rock album from Paul Stankley ("Stinky" to his friends). I've never been a KISS fan but I liked this album from the start... although "Hold Me, Touch Me" kinda bumped my groove a bit. A bit schmaltzy but they did have tunes like that back in the day. Stuff that would make one's flesh crawl like Kenny Nolan's "I Like Dreamin'". Hey, the 70s, man... it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. So, I was well-conditioned to confront Paul's wistful faux pas because it's the only embarrassing misstep on an otherwise good album, IMHO. The vinyl looks really cool and sounds fine although typical picture disc issues apply... including the vinyl record itself coming housed in a PVC inner sleeve. Yeah... 'PVC' has been hugging the vinyl since 2006.

While I haven’t A/B this pressing to any other I will say as someone who bought all 4 solo albums at release this pressing doesn’t disappoint.
Of the 4 solo albums I think the majority of KISS fans would say this one sounds the most like a KISS album. It only makes sense, Paul was and always will be, the voice of KISS. His writing created the sound we love and he was the most focused in the studio at getting that KISS sound on an album.
Each solo album deserves to be a part of any true KISS fan’s collection because they each add to the overall picture of KISS but if you must limit yourself I’d say Paul’s and Ace’s are definitely the two I’d grab.
