Kings Of Leon – WALLS

A great album that flows from track to track. Nice arrangements and a clear mix and production. My Euro copy seems to play really well.

Not for me…. I think the mastering is poor on this, well, it will suit some people who prefer the emphasis on the lower end but personally I like the detail to come through. I’ll move this on, I have no guilt in doing so because the press is fine & no pops or crackles but it’s not staying in the collection.

I found a used copy of this record in nice shape for a steal and had a go, having never listened to this band before. While also being a superb album, my copy sounds fantastic across the board with nice soundstage and sonic clarity, as well as no real surface noise to speak of. It seems like these pressings are real hit and miss, but I guess I got lucky here.

I agree with the prior review - not the best vinyl release. Not sure where it was pressed, but it has a lot of waves and swoosh like areas in the vinyl itself that do not clean out. This doesn't create any obvious issue, but the overall sound is flat and it is cut a bit low in volume. Mild surface noise throughout as well. The edges of the vinyl itself are crappy too, one side is sharp and razor thin, the other is flat and thick - further evidence of subpar pressing.

Nice packaging and a solid album from the boys but this pressing really lets them down. Really quiet with a lot of surface noise. Far too much bass drowning out everything else.

Really not the best. KOL should find a new place to press their vinyls in EU. Songs are great but man, this press is dirty even after a good cleaning. Such a pity.

This vinyl has surface noise which especially annoys on the title track. It is mixed quiet to the point I have to crank my amp about 10 volume settings higher than my other vinyl. It has no brightness at all as it is very dull. I Love the album but one of the more underwhelming and disappointing vinyl that I own. Hard to recommend.

My European copy is a nice gloss gatefold with same quality 12” booklet. Pressing is dead silent & production is top quality. On my deck (Linn/Hana) it sounds balanced, dynamic with lush bass. Another great album from KOL.
