Station '70

Profile:

Now defunct bar and live space in Shibuya, Tokyo. It was run by Yoshiaki Maki, the son of a prominent industrialist. It apparently had cutting edge design (mirrored ceiling, a wall made up of TV screens, plastic furniture) for the time. It hosted performances by avant-garde artists from the free jazz, folk, art, and dance worlds.
Station '70 closed in late January 1971.
