I still like their stuff a lot,great band!!

Maceration from Denmark, I recently discovered their 1992 LP a serenade of agony, while not genre defining, is a forgotten gem in my eyes. The Dan Swano connection always overshadows the LP's own merits I think.

Desecrator from the UK, I recently purchased their only album, titled Subconscious Release reissue. Original LP was released in 1991.

Legal Butchery from Belgium, released a demo tape ('94) that was far better than their only full length cd a few years later. It's on youtube, title: "Cause and Effect of Eternal Suffering". Dysuria had a good demo as well, called "For the Wounded", heavy doom/death.

Purtenance, the Finnish Death Metal pioneers, especially their legendary release " Of Immortal Damnation".
Adramelech, the Finnish classic band, very funky in a way, I'd recommend their album "Psychostasia".
Avulsed, the Spanish legends, after their first EP it becomes pretty great, kinda Swedish.

Well... Purtenance and Adramelech aren't really forgotten, almost everyone in the death metal world seems to praise them nowadays.
And Avulsed is quite "famous", at least peoples know the name.

This topic is rather about obscure demo bands.

the original ghost from poland released one of the greatest death metal albums in the history of the genre and they are virtually unknown among some of the most veteran fans of the genre
