Due to the problem mentioned in this thread I thought it might be useful to have one solely dedicated to alerting another to a problem or issue within the database. It will only work of course if the 'pinged' has the appropriate forum notification setting ticked.

If it works it may save time by not having to PM 's information that has already been noted in a submission history or elsewhere within the database.

I thought it might be useful to number the posts, so that 'pinged' s can reply with the associated number to show they have received the 'ping', but cannot however immediately deal with the issue but acknowledge it is on their radar.

Could I ask s to keep posts to a simple name, accompanied by a link to the relevant submission, artist, label or wherever they are needed. Any comments about the matter at hand should already be left there for the 'pinged' s attention, and if further discussion is needed a separate thread can of course be opened.

It would be great if one of you could bring this release up to par. At a minimum, it needs the full tracklist entered, with correct track positions (A1, A2, etc.) and capitalization. The label is wrong; Pop Legends is a series. The front cover image is probably web-sourced and needs to be replaced with an actual scan or photo. The genre is wrong; it is not Classical, but Rock, and the styles should be Progressive Rock and/or Psychedelic Rock (in my opinion).

You'd have to convince management to change the Guidelines for submission removal. As it stands now if a submission can be identified as something that exists it stays in the database no matter how poor an entry it is. I'd certainly the change you propose.

AVSMPK Are you sure this is Eartha Kitt? The only place that I can find that makes any mention of Eartha singing this is this Discogs page and sites that have clearly taken data directly from it. It's most likely that the handwritten title is wrong. Have you tried Shazaming the song or something like that?

Also, a note of when and where you purchased the vinyl does not belong in the release notes, as it is irrelevant to anyone else. That also doesn't necessarily mean that is when it was released either, so that release date can also be removed if there is no source.

Russello, there are a few concerns with your submissions:
- First of all, please do not write artist names and track titles in ALL CAPS. Please start every word with a capital, as per Discogs Capitalization guidelines, RSG §1.2.1.
- Complete tracklists are required to be entered RSG §1.3.1.a. You have entered a lot of submissions with incomplete tracklists
- Track positions of vinyl releases should be entered as A1, A2, B1, B2 etc., see RSG §12.2.3.. All your submissions just have 1, 2, 3, 4, which is incorrect.
- On some releases you've entered questionable catalog numbers. Please make sure you enter the catalog number that appears on the spine or the disc.

Please check and correct your submissions.

Until and unless the differences are proven to be an unintentional manufacturing variation, each type of sleeve warrants a separate submission, as per nik's statements at https://discogs.mejorespelis.org/forum/thread/722146 (as long as we are only talking about outer sleeves, which of course we are in this case).

I've gone ahead and split the release as best I can, so we now have the glossy unperforated and matte unperforated sleeves represented by FromLondon mentioned having perforated glossy sleeves; one of you guys should submit it and update the placeholder to be a link in the notes of the other two subs.

I had to remove most of the matrix data that was in the release notes of the original sub. LesArts, you both mentioned having German "107 184-100" stickers, fisonic's on glossy and LesArts's on matte...this info can be re-added as well, to whatever release matches the sleeve type (are they unperforated?). I recommend using a BAOI Other field for this number, with description ARIS sticker on copies sold in .

I've somewhat lost with the whole Beck thing but apparently there has been a slew of repressings of many of his albums lately, and I'm not convinced that the original and the repress should be on the same release page (there isn't even any notation about the repress in Release or Sub Notes!

First, the colours are probably a bit different as my labels aren't yellow at all, but very faint beige, the runouts have an added A2 so they appear to have used the same cut as the 2005 original (?).
The labels on the repress have the hole straight throught the "Beck" lettering on all sides, whereas mine doesn't (see disabled pics) apart from on A where it "touches" one letter.

Now, I can't fully compare them as I don't have the repress, any other ideas?
Are the differently placed holes enough for a separate entry, as this, at least, marks the repress?

I sure prefer the original in 99% of the cases, and would be disappointed if I bought a copy of the repress here on Discogs in hopes of it being the 2005 pressing.
