    Hi everyone,

I’m trying to identify and assess the value of a rare Australian pressing of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

    Here are the details:
    – Label: Parlophone (black with silver text)
    – Catalogue number: PCS 7027
    – Matrix/runout: SP008-A1 / SP008-B1
    – Pressed in Australia (circa 1970)
    – The vinyl is marbled and semi-transparent, possibly due to leftover vinyl pellets.

Has anyone seen a copy like this before? Is this a known limited variant or a pressing plant oddity?

Any insight or value estimate would be greatly appreciated!

For everyone else reading this, the OP has submitted it here The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band but I have tidied it up.

Nothing on the internet confirms that this record exists. The I Am the Platypus site, which is devoted to Aussie Beatles pressings, doesn't mention it. Popsike doesn't have a record of it.

I'd like to believe that it's a newly-discovered gem but I suspect that this submission is an error of assumption. The vinyl could be unofficial but in a real jacket, a Frankenstein's monster.

(Marbled) coloured copies a of a popular or sought-after album = always suspect. That wasn't really a thing back then.

Plus, there's a bunch of similar boots with the same matrix number.

Thanks, so as I understand it is probably an un-official album luckily the sounds is perfect.
    Thanks for your info all!

    Here's a list of Sgt Pepper's versions with SP008 runouts: https://discogs.mejorespelis.org/master/23934-The-Beatles-Sgt-Peppers-Lonely-Hearts-Club-Band?format=Vinyl&query=SP008

All unofficial. I notice that in one version has just edited the country from Australia to UK with the comment 'The knowledge is that these were press in the UK but made to look Australian'. It would be useful to know from where this knowledge comes. And if it's true, all six SP008 versions would need to be changed accordingly.
