Yánnis Papaïoannou was a Greek bouzouki player and a prominent rebetiko composer, lyricist & singer. Born January 18, 1913 in Kios, Asia Minor, Ottoman Empire - Died August 3, 1972 in Pérama, Piraeus, Greece.
At the end of 1936, Φαληριώτισσα, to Matsas, who liked it, and within a few days the song was recorded, released and became a huge hit. It was his first recording.
