Bilal Abdurahman

According to the notes included in the Billy Bang's Survival Ensemble " Black man's Blues/New-York Collage" release by NoBusiness Records, Clive Hunter converted to islam during his stay in jail at Attica in the seventies, and took then the name Bilal Abdur Rahman under the influence of Rap Brown. So he should'nt be confused with Bilal Abdurrahman ( multi-instrumentist, percussionist, clarinet) who participated to several Ahmed Abdul-Malik records, Jazz Sahara, East Meets West, The Music of..., and Sounds of Africa because those records are so previous to his conversion ti Islam.
