Scott "Top Ten" Kempner was a remarkable musician hailing from the Bronx, NY. He made a significant mark in the music industry as a founding member of both The Del Lords. Kempner's career began with his influential role in The Dictators, a band considered pivotal in the proto-punk scene from 1973 to 1979.
In a notable shift in musical direction, Kempner founded The Del-Lords in 1982, steering towards a Roots Rock style. This band, after disbanding in 1990, made a comeback in 2008, marking another significant chapter in Kempner's career. Additionally, he showcased his versatile talent by playing alongside Dion DiMucci in the Little Kings.
Kempner's career, unfortunately, came to a halt in 2021 following a dementia diagnosis, leading him to step back from his active role in the music scene.
