W.R. Calaway

A&R man from Boone, North Carolina. Calaway worked for Gennett Records (1928-1930) and the American Record Corporation (1930-1938). He frequently acquired publishing rights and writer's credits on songs recorded by his artists. Died May 6, 1949 aged 54 in a car accident.
