Amazing Rae & Christian mix! For sure the stand up track of this release, maybe the best mix ever made of Bodyrock

People like to rave about the Olav Basoski remix, but it’s pretty much identical to the remix he did at the exact same time of Brooklyn Bounce’s “Canda”! He was obviously just being lazy. -

Why is this so common? 1999 pressing shouldn't have been such a high print run? -

This is a 12" vinyl single of Bodyrock by Moby released on Mute Records in 1999. Featuring 3 Tracks. The First Track is the Olav Basoski's Da Hot Da Freak Funk Remix which is awesome just bloody awesome. Olav turns a tacky mediocre hip hop song into a club thumper. It's legendary. A million times better than the original. By far the best remix on this record. The Second Track is basically an extended version of the original, the only difference is this version has a long electric guitar intro. The weakest track on the record. The Third Track is the Dani Konig Remix this one's very minimal with not that much happening, but what is cool is all the sound effects and what I also like about is it has a long synthesiser & piano outro and the Dani Konig Mix isn't tacky either. Well Done Olav & Dani! Overall 7.5/10, Thank You For Reading My Review, hope you have enjoyed my review! -

Bodyrock the third single from Moby Play Olav mix is the best. When you buy this it states that Side AA states 45 RPM when it actually revolves at 33 1/3 RPM. -

I must respectfully disagree with Apeman :-)
Whilst the Basoski mix is great dancefloor fodder the Dani Konig mix is superb. A true minimal builder pre Loco Dice style, with a fantastic reworking of the piano line spliting the original section in two and playing the last couple of bars first completely changing the riff and creating a new and deeper vibe!

Bodyrock by Moby was from the amazing 'Play' album from all the way back in 1999. It revolves around samples of "Love Rap" by Spoony G, and has a silly video featuring hilarriously bad dancing (kinda like the video for Fatboy Slim's 'Praise You'.
When I was looking round records in Paris a couple of weeks ago, I came across a 12" of this and discovered the Olav Basoski remix and I must say, but the Basoski remix is EVEN BETTER than the original. It's a real stomping Funky House record that is so funky that it hurts! While Moby's original is still a great track, and a defining tune of the 90's Big Beat movement, the Olav Basoski remix is the true winner.
