Archive – Londinium

The Good: It's hard to imagine the original vinyl mastering sounding better, but I've never heard it. This is notably more three dimensional than my CD. This is a great album and MOV honored it with a nice mastering.

The Bad: There is the faintest crackle distortion in the right channel. So faint, that I’ve weighed whether it really compromises my experience or not. What is it doing there and why hasn’t any other reviewer mentioned it?

The Ugly: The crackle shouldn't be there and so I am returning the record. My hope is that Archive remasters and reissues this like they did some of their other records. This is the first MOV I’ve heard that isn’t impeccable. I have MOV pressings of White Zombie’s ASTROCREEP 2000, Ministry’s FILTH PIG, Miles Davis’ ASCENSEUR and APC’s 13TH STEP (last two are two of the best sounding records in my collection). For me, anything MOV pressed at RI in Holland has been gold, except for this brilliant album.

this can never be replicated , all reissues destroys the impact of this era of trip hop .... it was a small window in them 90s

La seule fois où j'ai été déçu de MOV. Le son sonne un peu plat en comparaison du vinyle originale. Et que dire de la.pochette méchamment pixelisée. Pour ceux qui ont la chance d'avoir le vinyle de 1996, c'est le jour et la nuit....

Thanks MOV for this. For me one of the best dark trip hop album of the 90's. If you like the beginning of Tricky Massive Attack Portishead you will like this one. An underated classic.

A stunning must have of an album, the remastering is off the chart good. Cover art matches my original CD which did not have the blue band across the top of the image.

PHENOMENAL mastering, top quality, ultra silent pressing. Nothing more to add, just another top MOV job!

Great album, the glorious trip-hop era represented at its best here. Masterpiece

Also that the original cover included the blue band across the top making the image less profound and smaller. Now it is full-sized and the predominant feature so you notice it more.. Its not that much different than the original image. Just bigger and thus more noticeable. But as a photographer I would have boosted saturation and added some contrast before printing
